DREAMING CORPORATE FEUDALISM

This morning I woke-up thinking about "corporate feudalism" as a state of affairs today and the many smokes and mirrors that keep many of us from percieving this with any clarity. Its an interesting term to google and generally more discussed among the blogosphere and less so in media (journalism).
I spent more than seven years functioning within the thumb of a large corparate entity- but in truth though I am liberated from THAT specific work situation the very fact that the only felxibiltiy within my current small monthly (and dwindling) budget is FOOD. My rent, my health insurance, my communication costs, my utilities are inflexible (as far as I can see or understand). My frugal economic saving measures are to eat for less than 3euros a day and to bike where ever I can and to refrain from calling anyone outside of my telephone calling plan.
Functioning within (and outside) the artworld I am at pains to understand how "corporate feudalism" still frames my life. I must face the consequences (social, financial) for trying to function outside the system that has evolved in the form we understand (or dont understand) today. certain artists have been able to find THEIR PLACE within this (international) corporate feudalist structure/system. I am still figuring this out and suspect that it ( MAY be) is an unwinnable fight- and thus one must find workable solutions (short or long term). Artists have done this by essentially have other jobs such as teaching or banal faceless activities. In the current international finacial crisis, which i find extremely difficult to eternalize and fully comprehend, I am searching for the possibilities that must be engaged. the need to cerate something that is understood as neccessary (which art is not percieved as- though it in fact is of great importance). Perhaps the divination of the cards will be seen as essential by some while some of my other (hidden?) talents may be of some value. It is all extremely painful and frightening and now keeps me awake often.
UPDATE:
today at"Kaiser & Kuchen"Cafe-restaurant-barhere in Kreuzberg I mentioned some of my waking thoughts to the BF. Indeed he found it neccessary to debate, argue, counter rather than enhance my thoughts.
He hung on to a rather formal definition of feudal, feudalism etc. in a historical sense.
Presenting an example that the wall color was Blue if he decides to redefine brown as now "blue". ideed it was a bit dismissive and doesnt really allow for the way in which nuanced redefinitions emerge let alone my American baggage (of experience) which brings me to my own personal conclusions. Wikipedia most certainly presented that there is a debate surrounding this word and that it inadequately expresses the complexities of the middleages let alone our modern times- none the less, i am not incorrect in my line of thought as evidenced by this short essay attributed to Senator Eugene McCarthy's (1916-2005) use the term CORPORATE FEUDALISM here (Not to be confused with Senator Joe McCarthy the rabid anti-Communist wacko). From populist(dot)com The "Progressive Populist" describes itself as "THE PROGRESSIVE POPULIST, a newspaper that believes people are more important than corporations...The Progressive Populist reports from the heartland of America on issues of interest to workers, small-business owners and family farmers and ranchers. It serves as The People's Voice in a Corporate World."
