ARAB SPRING SO CALLED

The so called "Arab Spring" was (literally) ignited by a young 26yo Tunisian man Mohamed Bouazizi who lit himself ablaze as a protest to getting arrested for selling fruits and vegetables without a license in Tunisia in Jan of 2011. Art gallery installation (above) by a french artist named Effer Lecebe.

It is now Feb2012 and thus far Tunisia has overthrown its rulership, Egypt has ousted its dictator Hasni Mubarak, Lybia has had a dreadful internal war and  killed Mumar Kadafi, Yemen is still in the throws of a rebellion with an uncertain clarity regarding their ruler, Syria is falling apart with very little news coverage as the Assad family dynasty holds on to power .
It has been said that the former colonial rulers of these middle east and african countries purposefully put the minority clans in power. (!?)
