Prägestempel and Blindprägestempel are Prägegeräte for Blindprägung

Hand-Prägezange v. Prägepresse/Tisch-Prägeapparat

Wax-seal stamp= Petschafte (which is a Messingstempel i.e. brass)
used sometimes for a Firmensiegel

starburst metalic foil adhesive back seals= Siegelsterne Prägeetiketten (usually on a roll)
See: Stempel-depot.de (on outskirts of Berlin)
Cheapest? €50/60 x1 Prägenzange + €25 x3 Ersatzplattenträgger

Today did a ton of online research- hate to search in German.
I'm making a sharp turn away from cast "plaster" medallions (!!!)
for the sake of:
1-effect (magical/mystical and hopefully lush)
2-poetics (butterflies, mirrors...)
3- time/expediency (lots of work but way less than casts)
4-budget (€500 or less!)

I spent the day trying to find sources to have another "embosser" made (i usually use it on my work with signature)
Rather than cast medallions - these might/will look like minted paper thin coins or jewelry
Budget will dictate 3 (sm,med.lg) with 3 motifs- companies usually use their logos I'll have to reduce/abstract "images" (ouf! challenge)

this technique might insure that I can create hundreds of these small circular mirror like "portraits' with ease and accuracy. (by the way the show is called "making Mirrors"- opens mid June.

They'll hover off of long straight pins like butterflies off of a velvet backdrop.
BIG i.e. on a 3mx3m or 4m x 4m field (i am a tad concerned that they give me stand back viewing distance)
I'll need to come up with methods for how to male a variety of things easy for me- because every little detail is fraught with logistical issues i.e. how to convincingly enlarge a huge star-map without going crazy and sustaining accuracy with the use of only 3sizes of "stars"
I am thinking maybe of putting sm,med.lg "grommets" on the velvet- which could avoid installation nightmares.
Ok I am "slightly" ahead of myself. I also need to settle on a specific date/moment I want to "use"- either the morning the "goddess" left Josephine Bakers body over paris or something local like the midnight hour that the berlin wall came down and reunited a divided land yadda yadda.

attached are some pics from todays fussing around (using my text embosser-no image on "cheap simple "alu foil")
I have always wanted to try and master a "¢ to $" ability like DHammons does. I hope this can do that.
Indeed this whole 'look" would look great in a 3mx3m shadow-box frame! ha!

I'm also keen on (quickly) investigating the same coin/medallions in the same method/tradition of wax-seals for 2D renditions of the project.
I didnt step out for 5seconds today- but feel ok having done much online research and some decision breakthroughs.
I love the "fairy" magic quality to it.

An earlier 3D'sketch" using Kubacloths and doll-eyes/ and a digi-Sketch using 3ages of the Goddess

“The Goddess Constellations” [2011, Textile, pins, metal-foil, ± dims. 300cm x 300cm] a sculpture-map installation of space and time.
The comforting human belief in the divine gaze of the gods and human destiny has inspired the artist to combine myth and science. The Goddess Projects uses as it’s leitmotif the so called “Black Venus” Josephine Baker, the most famous “goddess” since Saartjie Baartman a century earlier. In 1930 she abandoned the banana-skirt that had made her famous from Paris to Berlin and warrant for her arrest in Munich.
At 5AM, the 12 of April 1975 the goddess emerged from her corporal vessel and rose over the sky of Paris. On Nov 1989 the goddess’ benevolent gaze would witness the fall of the Berlin wall from the sky.
