There are some significant things that the occupy movements REVEALED: 1)The powerlessness of the masses to affect systemic change quickly. 2)The slow creep of an unofficial militarized control apparatus. 3)A palpable conflict between the rhetoric of freedom and its domestic implementation(in the west). Significant flagstones in my opinion: The ignoring of "international" mass protest against the start of an Iraq war in 2003. The prison execution of american inmate Troy Davis in 2011. The emergency pending world financial-collapse scare of 2008 during the final days of the Bush administration.
