I woke up today with thoughts for a (possible) project.
Perhaps utilizing a modernized version of "His service record" the old vintage WWII scrap book I bought at flea-market back in the NYC. With obscured (redacted) texts and obscured images. Perhaps using pop-cultural reSource images found on the internet ether like Newsweek Gallery of war images. Creating a tragic diary of sorts with a combination of inaccessible texts and images, with the life of one soldier as its epicenter, with an ethical conflict not unlike the German nazi soldiers who deserted and were prosecuted or executed by their fellow soldiers.
"(Dishonorable) Heroes"[working title]
He was killed in the war. In fact he was murdered.
He was born on an American tropical island, in fact a colony.
He objected to the war though he had volunteered.
He was court-marshalled for treason and desertion, posthumously.
It was all shrouded in secrecy, even to his partner who lay dieing obliviously in hospital.
