ENTRY INTO FALL

"Labor-day"2009 has come(and gone) yesterday and most certainly there are hundreds of people(thousands?) recovering today, Tuesday, from it all.
It represents the symbolic entry into "Fall" for us "Americans"(west-indian or otherwise).
It is most certain the "dee Pahkway" was packed with erotic-texture, perspiration and color of many hues.

By neccessity my color must be BLUE, "Prußen Blau" to be more precise. Last night I watched "Preußisches Liebesglück: Eine deutsche Familie aus Afrika" witht he BF (which he found very moving)- the story of the "Sabac-el-Cher" family from the mid 19C. till today. A brilliant saga which begins with the a young Egyptian boy "given" as a "gift" to a Prussian Prince- a symbol of wealth at the time to "own" such an exotic "human-pet" (not quite in the category of "slave" but ratgher in a category of its own).

So...
<--THIS is what todays experiments has produced. at exposures of 15minutes to direct sunlight on the street using an old large negative of a car's "hood". the substrate samples are: a)On raw fine linen(at 15euros a meter-yikes!) b)On an easy to get art paper from the Gräfestraße Kunstlerbedarfladen (at 70cents per 63cmx49cm sheet) c) from 100% white bleached cotton from Mayerbachufer outdoor market at 3euros a meter Each one has a differnt "feel" to the "look" (I unfortunately like the linen the best but may go for one of the other two from neccessity to cut my costs) The image below is what the "exposed" paper looks like before i put the paper in water to dissolve the salts. My sense of optimism has risen but I still fear the difficulty ahead.

*I have no idea why the final image here of S.el C. is "orange" (I had uploaded something in Blue (put as a monochrome file)
